Why are PolyCORE Shutters better than wood? |
|
PolyCORE doesn't absorb moisture.
PolyCORE never needs to be repainted.
PolyCORElouvers' aluminum core make them as straight as an arrow. With no crown or bow, they provide better light control and insulation.
Staples in PolyCORE shutters actually glue themselves to the tilt rod and louvers. In wood, the staples often work their way loose.
Wood tends to sand itself away and lose louver tension over time. This makes the louvers not stay where positioned.
Although unprocessed wood is less expensive, it takes so much processing to make it look as good as PolyCORE that wood shutters typically cost 15 to 25 percent more per square foot.
PolyCORE are more durable and resistant to the environment. They can be installed in places wood shutters can't such as bathrooms, kitchen sinks, or other humid or hot environments. Plus, if they are subjected to weather (for example, if you forget to close the window in a rainstorm) they will not be damaged.
Because of their V-0 fire rating, only "poly" shutters can be installed in commercial buildings over three stories. (V-0 is the best rating you can have)
Wood shutters expand and contract with the change of seasons. This makes the shutter louvers lose tension and control light less effectively. This also causes the paint finish to crack or come off and staples to pull out.
PolyCORE can be cleaned with almost anything without having to worry about the paint finish being damaged.
PolyCORE doesn't harm the environment because it is 100% recyclable. Since it is a "poly", not a wood, it helps to save trees.
PolyCORE is termite proof.
"Poly" shutters usually have a four week turn around time, which is about two weeks faster than wood. With the PolyCORE system we will have the order in and out of our shop in fourteen working days.
| Why are PolyCORE shutters better than Vinyl? |
|
Vinyl is hollow, which gives vinyl shutters the lowest insulating value of any shutters in the shutter market.
Being hollow also makes it transparent under bright light.
Vinyl feels cheap. A vinyl shutter weighs next to nothing and feels like a kids toy, not something you want to pay top dollar for.
Because it is hollow, it can't have a "mouse" hole or real staples in it. The imitation staples that are on the tilt rod are plastic and tend to become brittle from exposure to the sun, and pull out or break from the tilt rod frequently with normal. movement of the shutter.
The vinyl shutter doesn't absorb moisture, but the color is injected into the material when it is molded and will yellow or fade in time dues to exposure to the sun.
| Why are PolyCORE shutters better than PolywoodŽ? |
|
The aluminum core makes wider louver lengths possible, making the option of wider panels available for a cleaner and less obscured view out of the window.
Harder material surface, reducing the likelihood of dings and dents.
No required risk, no up front franchise fee, materials, fabrication facility, or equipment. (Sell 1 shutter opening or 100 without the overhead the competitors have.)
Quickest delivery times in the industry. No one can offer custom fabricated shutters within 2 weeks. (This gives big sales advantages and opportunities to get the job over the competition and can even allow for higher profit margins.)
PolyCORE has stronger joints at the stile and rail. The screw together format is the strongest possible format for assembling shutter panels, also allowing for simple unscrew to replace a louver if it becomes damaged.
No hole strip that can slide up or down in the stile causing uneven gaps between louvers and rails. PolyCORE offers a co/extruded one part stile so no cracks are seen between the stile and the hole strip.
Colors have been developed to match customers decor and are more versatile. We offer beautiful bright white and a neutral off-white.
No rubber flap between the stiles that require closing the shutter panels at the same time, often becoming stuck together after not opening the shutters for a long length of time due to the heat and the paint. Our products stile has precise bevel to the stile allowing for the open and close of each panel independently, yet still coming together for a tight close.
